Say it ain't so!
For the past 14 years, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has transformed a one-mile segment of Crystal Springs Drive in Griffith Park into a wonderland of shimmering lights.More than half million visitors each year brave the cold to participate in this joyful traffic jam.
However, the cost and amount of time that would be required to halt a major construction project - the installation of a major water line, the River Supply Conduit - as well as the installation of the new zoo parking lot forced a decision to cancel this year's Light Festival.
While I can't argue with the city trying to contain costs, this is a huge disappointment, My suggestion would be to enjoy the Santa Express ride in Griffith Park this year and hope for the return of the light festival next year.
