Cheap & Cheerful Railroad Ride-Angels Flight

For the price of a gumball, experience a one way ride on the "Shortest Railway in the World" at Angel's Flight.(351 S. Hill Street)

Opened in 1901 this 350 foot funicular system of two counterbalanced cars moving up and down parallel tracks was created to transport passengers along the steep grade between Third and Hill Street and the then very fashionable Bunker Hill.

The ride lasts a minute, but the memory will last a lifetime. In a city notorious for tearing things down, Angels Flight (that is how it is spelled, with no apostrophe) is a charming slice of time travel as well as a huge time saver for people wanting to get from the California Plaza to the Grand Central Market or visa versa. A must for Angelenos and tourists alike.

Hours are 6:45 am to 10:oo pm daily.
