Cheap & Cheerful Pad Thai -Thai Town/Hollywood

With the largest Thai population out side of Thailand it makes sense that the first and only Thai Town would be right here in Los Angeles. While the boundaries of Thai Town are open to discussion, the center of the action is on Hollywood Blvd. Between Normandie and Western. Thailand Plaza (5321 Hollywood Blvd.) arguably the best known food court of the area with a huge multicolored neon sign, or the Hollywood Western station on the Metro Red line are good places to start.

But it is not only about food. Silk clothes, jewelery, ceramics, books flowers candles incense are available in a number of neighboring stores at very reasonable prices. There is a great night life as several of the restaurants stay open into 2a.m. Word is there is a hopping karaoke scene.
