People have a love/hate relationship with the Greek Theater. (2700 N Vermont Ave.)Located on the Los Angeles side of Griffith Park in a very nice residential neighborhood, it offers a wonderful outdoor performance space. But like most concert venues it can get expensive, fast.
And then there is the matter of the notorious stacked parking.
So how to keep it Cheap & Cheerful? Pack a picnic and enjoy the park before the show. You can park outside the venue and walk up. No arguing it's a trek--and please obey parking signs, but it's a pretty walk through one of Los Angeles' storied neighborhoods. Not up for that? Stacked Parking is $15.00. Split with friends, not too bad but to keep it cheerful, arrive early! First cars in, are the first cars out. Now about seating--the cheap seats are the benches, located in the back, not great sight lines, but you said you wanted to keep it cheap. Like anywhere else the closer you sit, the higher the price--you decide what you want to spend. Check the website for pricing as it varies show to show.
On a warm summer's night, the Greek Theater is a slice of heaven!
