A lovely little secret of the San Fernando Valley is The Japanese Garden( 6100 Woodley Ave) The dream of former City Engineer Douglas Tillman,the gardens were created in conjunction with the Tillman Reclamation plant. But don't let that stop you from exploring Suiho En, the garden of water and fragrance is a 6½ acre authentic Japanese garden fashioned after “stroll gardens” constructed during the 18th and 19th centuries for Japanese feudal lords.
The Garden is open Monday through Thursday from 12:00PM until 4:00PM, and Sunday from 10:00AM until 4:00PM (the last gate entry each day is at 3:15PM).Please call on the day you wish to visit to make sure the Garden is open.
Docent led tours are also available each tour lasts approximately 1-¼ hours and includes an overview of the water reclamation process. (Evening tours are offered during the Summer.)
Admission to the Garden is $3.00 per person, $2.00 for Seniors 62+ and Children under 10. (Special Event admission fees are generally higher.)
