Cheap & Cheerful TOMATOMANIA! -Encino and other locations

If you, like me, are weary of winter, embrace the future and attend TOMATOMANIA! this weekend at Tapia Brothers farm stand.(5251 Hayvenhurst Ave at the 101 Fwy)

TOMATOMANIA! the world's largest heirloom tomato seedling sale and Los Angeles Rite of Spring is the perfect event whether you are a first time container gardener or a expert on all things green. Scott Daigre and his insanely cheerful and informative crew will set you up with the right plants for exactly were you live, what kind of soil you have and what kind of exposure you contend with (I'm talking sunshine not stalking paparazzi) Parking is free and plants run $4.00 - $7.00 so check it out. What could be better than home grown tomatoes this summer? For you impatient types who must have fresh produce immediately, Tapia Bros. is the place!

p.s. Wear rain boots. The parking lot is supper muddy.

TOMATOMANIA! runs Friday Saturday and Sunday 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m, rain or shine this weekend. If you can't get to Encino, fear not! There are other events planned around LA.
